About Flare

Who we are
The Forum for Learning and Research Enquiry (FLARE) was established by Essex LA to foster a culture of research practice in Essex. The forum membership (see membership list) comprises mainly of practising teachers and as a group we aim to

  • promote enquiry as a model and a vital tool for school improvement
  • encourage schools and staff in Essex to contribute to knowledge related to learning and teaching
  • encourage all staff in schools to utilise existing research as well as engage in their own research
  • promote participation in the research of others
  • commission research
  • assist in the dissemination of research outcomes
  • identify links with national publications and reports
  • provide access to research undertaken within Essex
